Room to grow / 5 MIN READ

Your floor plan is more than a picture of the room.

Make physical tables, combinations and turnaround time work together without losing the character of your space.

Begin with the physical room

Create a table for each physical table and use labels the team already recognises. Include obstacles and clear walking routes in the visual layout. A useful plan helps someone standing at the host station understand the room immediately.

Combine deliberately

Only create combinations that the team can actually set up. Think about capacity, access and how the combined table affects neighbouring guests. A combination shares its physical tables with the rest of the plan; it should never be treated as extra furniture.

Match time to the occasion

Lunch for two and a long dinner for six may need different durations. Define rules that reflect the way your restaurant serves, then allow a realistic reset buffer. Review these assumptions with the floor team before opening more online availability.

Practise the awkward moments

Try moving a booking, seating a walk-in and handling a late arrival in the demo. Look at the physical table timeline before making a promise. The best time to discover an unclear label or an impractical combination is before the door opens.
